Reliance Retail outlines JioMart’s WhatsApp-led kirana commerce expansion
JioMart plans to connect consumers with nearby kirana stores, merchants, manufacturers and farmers through a WhatsApp-enabled ordering model. Reliance said the platform would expand in phases beyond its initial launch cities, supported by Jio’s merchant technology and Facebook’s investment.
Reliance Retail outlined JioMart’s pan-India kirana e-commerce model, linking consumers, nearby stores, manufacturers and merchants. It will use WhatsApp for ordering and merchant onboarding, supported by Facebook’s Rs 43,000-crore Jio investment and PoS technology for trader partners.
