Tata Power to start ₹6,600 crore Odisha solar wafer plant work in October
Tata Power plans to begin construction of a 10-GW solar wafer and ingot facility in Gopalpur, Odisha, in October. The first 5-GW phase is targeted for January 2028, with a second phase expected about six months later; the company is also evaluating nuclear-project sites.
Tata Power will start building a ₹6,600-crore, 10-GW solar wafer and ingot plant in Gopalpur, Odisha, in October. It is also identifying nuclear project sites in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Gujarat, subject to private-sector participation rules.
Why this matters
