QSR pizza posts first sales decline as Pizza Hut, MOD slump and rivals devour share
The $31B US quick-service pizza category fell 0.3% in 2025, the only restaurant segment to contract. Pizza Hut (-8.2%), MOD (-10.6%) and Pieology (-26.5%) bled share while Domino's (+4.8%) and Jet's (+11.5%) grew. Asian (+7.8%), Mexican (+4.7%) and chicken (+5.3%) concepts plus DoorDash and Uber Eats siphoned occasions.
