May auto retail roars: PVs up 28% to 440K units, Maruti and Tata Motors hit record highs

Passenger vehicle dispatches surged 28% to ~440,000 units in May. Maruti Suzuki posted a record 190,337 units; Tata Motors jumped 42% to 59,090 with record 10,517 EVs. M&M (+11%), Hyundai (+9.1%) joined the rally. Two-wheelers, CVs and tractors also logged double-digit growth despite Iran war fuel jitters.
