IndiGo to defer next aircraft mega-order decision until 2030

With more than 900 aircraft on order through 2035, IndiGo will assess new-generation, lower-emission aircraft before placing its next major order. The airline is expanding long-haul capacity with Airbus A321XLRs and 60 A350-900s, with A350 deliveries due from 2028.

IndiGo will defer its next major aircraft order decision until around 2030, assessing next-generation low-emission technology. With over 900 aircraft on order through 2035, it is expanding long-haul capacity via A321XLRs and A350s while shifting new aircraft financing toward finance leases.

Why this matters

The deferral follows IndiGo's global-carrier ambition, long-haul buildout and recent pilot-duty disruption, while complementing its two-year Incredible India promotion pact.
