India reaches 99.92% village banking coverage, widening rural retail payment access
India says 6,00,868 of 6,01,328 inhabited villages now have a banking outlet within 5 km. The expanded branch, Business Correspondent and India Post Payments Bank network strengthens the payment and credit rails available to rural consumers and retailers.

The government and RBI also detailed digital-payment fraud controls, including IDPIC intelligence sharing, MuleHunter and security guidelines for banks, mobile banking and cards.
