HUL raises Dove shampoo nearly 10%; Rin prices climb up to 14% since March
Hindustan Unilever has increased prices across Dove shampoo and Rin detergents as palm oil, crude-linked inputs and packaging costs rise. Dove’s 200 ml shampoo moved from ₹172 to ₹189, while Rin’s four-bar pack has risen from ₹94 to ₹107 since March.
HUL raised prices for Rin detergent variants and Dove shampoo to offset higher palm oil, crude-linked and packaging costs. Rin’s cumulative increases since March reach over 8% for 1 kg powder and nearly 13.8% for four-bar packs; Dove 200 ml rose 9.9%.
Why this matters
The increases extend HUL's recent margin-protection moves after FMCG brands rolled back discounts amid rising costs, while the company also warned of a 4–5% rural soap and detergent demand hit from El Niño pressure on farm income.
Retail-brand signals are accelerating, up 341200% quarter over quarter.
