Government said premium petrol from Indian Oil, HPCL and BPCL will remain ethanol-free. It ruled out restoring E0 or E10 fuel and said no decision has been made to raise blending beyond E20, citing supply-chain costs and vehicle-testing data.

Why this matters

The fuel-grade decision follows Indian Oil's July 1 cut of ₹173–183.50 in 19kg commercial LPG, easing QSR and hospitality costs and extending the brand's focus on fuel pricing and availability.
