Ather says it could sell 15,000 more scooters a month as capacity hits its ceiling
Ather Energy’s paid pre-orders rose 158% year-on-year to 1.5 lakh in Q1 FY27, while registrations topped 90,000. With its Hosur plant near full utilisation, the company is preparing an Aurangabad ramp that would lift annual capacity from 4.2 lakh to 9.2 lakh units by Q1 FY28.
Ather Energy reported surging scooter demand and its first positive EBITDA quarter, but supply is constrained by near-full Hosur capacity. It plans an EL mass-market launch and an Aurangabad plant that will more than double annual manufacturing capacity by Q1 FY28.
Why this matters
The capacity constraint follows Ather’s Q1 EBITDA-positive result and its narrowing Q1 loss, when retail registrations doubled and dealer inventory fell to three days.
retail-company is accelerating, up 200371% QoQ.
