Ather Energy secured ₹1,200 crore from Hero MotoCorp (₹960 cr), the India-Japan Fund (₹200 cr) and founders (₹40 cr) in the opening tranche of a ₹2,500-crore programme. Capital targets manufacturing capacity, a retail expansion to 700 stores from 351, and entry into the mass-market e-scooter segment.
