Akasa Air logged 152 of 352 significant technical defects reported in India through June
Government data cited 352 significant technical defects in flight operations through June, including 334 on domestic routes. Akasa Air accounted for 152 reports, followed by Air India Express with 53, IndiGo with 47 and Air India with 46. The DGCA has expanded surveillance and enforcement activity.
India’s aviation ministry reported 352 significant flight-operation defects through June, led by Akasa Air. DGCA issued 382 safety-violation notices since January 2024 and took 51 major enforcement actions during 2023-25, following expanded post-crash airport surveillance.

The tally reinforces a recent signal that Akasa Air leads India’s technical-defect reports as DGCA tightens oversight. It also comes ahead of Akasa’s planned consolidation of Mumbai flights at CSMIA Terminal 2 from August 1, 2026.
