FMCG price hikes loom as crude, West Asia war and weak monsoon squeeze margins

Dairy and bread already up — Amul and Mother Dairy raised milk ₹2/litre from 14 May; Modern Bread added ₹5/pack on 16 May. Cooking oil is 14-22% higher YoY, WPI hit a 42-month high of 8.3%, and Worldpanel now sees FY27 volume growth easing to ~5% as biscuits, snacks and QSR brace for further pass-through.

Amul, Mother Dairy raise milk prices 2.5-3.5% after nearly a year

Amul Gold 500ml moves to ₹35 from ₹34; T Special 1L to ₹66 from ₹63; Taaza 1L to ₹57 from ₹55. Hike cites higher cattle feed, packaging and fuel costs, following last revision in May 2025. Listed dairy peers Hatsun Agro, Dodla, Heritage Foods, Parag Milk in focus.
