Ola Electric registrations jump 23% in May as Bajaj closes gap on TVS in EV two-wheeler race

India's electric two-wheeler market grew 8% MoM to 1.70 lakh registrations in May 2026. Ola Electric led growth at +23% to 15,139 units (8.88% share), while Bajaj's 39,104 units (22.94%) narrowed the gap with leader TVS at 42,376 units (24.9%). Ather and Hero held third and fourth positions.

Simple Energy raises ₹250 cr, targets FY28 IPO and ₹3,000 cr revenue by FY30

Bengaluru EV scooter maker Simple Energy closed a ₹250 cr Series B (equity + ₹123 cr NBFC debt) to scale capacity from 3,000 to 10,000 units/month by March 2027. It runs 71 outlets across 38 cities and is eyeing an H2 FY28 listing as it chases a 4x revenue jump to ₹170 cr.

India EV two-wheeler sales rebound to 150,796 units in May; TVS leads, Ola slips to fifth

Electric scooter registrations recovered to ~150,796 units in May after April's 22% MoM drop, though still below March's 192,000 peak. TVS (41,558) and Bajaj (38,012) overtook Ather (27,525), Hero (18,261) and Ola (14,752). Ola is pivoting to B2B, targeting gig riders for Zomato, Swiggy, Zepto and Blinkit.
